Collaboration </strong><strong>Requirements:</strong><strong>Please consider your application unsuccessful when you have not heard from the Signa Opportunity team within two weeks of submitting your application.<br><br></strong><ul><li> Compliance and Legal Duties </li><li>Ensure the workplace complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and all relevant regulations.</li><li>Keep up to date with health and safety legislation and communicate changes to management and staff.</li><li>Prepare and maintain statutory documentation such as risk assessments, incident reports, and safety registers</li><li>Conduct regular risk assessments to identify hazards and implement control measures.</li><li>Monitor high-risk activities (e.g., working at heights, electrical, demolition, confined spaces).</li><li>Develop and update the company’s Health & Safety Policy and safe work procedures.</li><li>Arrange induction programs for new employees and subcontractors.</li><li>Facilitate training sessions on PPE usage, emergency procedures, fire safety, and first aid.</li><li>Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and daily briefings </li><li>Carry out regular site inspections and audits to check compliance with safety standards.</li><li>Ensure correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).</li><li>Monitor equipment and machinery for safe operation. </li><li>Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses.</li><li>Maintain records of all incidents and recommend corrective/preventive actions.</li><li>Develop and test emergency response plans (fire drills, evacuation, first aid). </li><li>Report safety performance, risks, and incidents to management.</li><li>Prepare monthly/quarterly safety reports for internal review and client requirements</li><li>Act as the point of contact between employees, management, and regulatory bodies regarding safety issues. </li><li>Work with project managers, supervisors, and coordinators to integrate safety into daily operations.</li><li>Liaise with external inspectors, auditors, and contractors to ensure compliance.</li><li>Support the HR department in handling worker compensation claims and return-to-work programs.</li><li>South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.</li><li>Must not have participated on the YES programme before.</li><li>Matric</li><li>Diploma/Bachelor of Health and Safety<br><br><br><br></li></ul>
