Job Overview

Solo Loudoun County attorney looking to hire mature, highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant, ideally experienced in Northern Virginia family law and court procedures. As a Paralegal/ Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to the attorney and will help ensure the smooth operation of the firm. Ability to talk with clients going through difficulties, to help ascertain how best to help them, is a must.

Along with telephone duties, other duties include the preparation of court pleadings and forms, invoicing, and administrative/office work. Must be proficient with MS Office, and willing to work in a quiet setting, often alone. Will consider a candidate for Receptionist with lesser responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client interviews to gather relevant information
  • Assist with file management, including organizing and maintaining legal documents
  • Review and analyze documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Draft and edit legal correspondence, memos, and other written materials
  • Conduct legal research on various topics as assigned
  • Provide administrative support to the attorney, such as scheduling meetings and managing calendars
  • Assist with trial preparation and other litigation tasks as needed.
-Taking payments from clients, keeping meticulous records, and preparing invoices
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Skills:
  • Strong interviewing skills to effectively gather information from clients
  • Proficiency in file management, including organizing and maintaining legal documents
  • Ability to review and analyze documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Excellent written communication skills to draft and edit legal correspondence
  • Strong research skills to conduct thorough legal research on various topics
  • Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices
  • Ability to assist with trial preparation and other litigation tasks
  • Excellent phone etiquette when communicating with clients or other parties involved in a case
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
