Remote Part-time Bookkeeper, Accountant

Description:

  • Perform bookkeeping tasks, including reconciliations, invoicing, and expense tracking
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Support budget tracking and project-based cost management
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as requested
  • Reconcile accounts payable/receivable sub-ledgers with the general ledger
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Spot inefficiencies and implement smarter ways of working
  • Assist in maintaining and upgrading financial systems and controls
  • Work closely with the project managers, account teams, and clients to ensure financial clarity

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in accounting software like Xero, and ideally Chase (or similar project management tools).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Familiarity with agency contracts, billing practices, and project-based workflows is a plus.
  • Experience with project-based accounting and WIP (work-in-progress) reporting is highly desirable.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • 3+ years in an accounting or finance role, ideally within a creative agency or project-based environment.
