Remote Part-time Bookkeeper, Accountant
Description:
- Perform bookkeeping tasks, including reconciliations, invoicing, and expense tracking
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Support budget tracking and project-based cost management
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as requested
- Reconcile accounts payable/receivable sub-ledgers with the general ledger
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Spot inefficiencies and implement smarter ways of working
- Assist in maintaining and upgrading financial systems and controls
- Work closely with the project managers, account teams, and clients to ensure financial clarity
Requirements:
- Proficiency in accounting software like Xero, and ideally Chase (or similar project management tools).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Familiarity with agency contracts, billing practices, and project-based workflows is a plus.
- Experience with project-based accounting and WIP (work-in-progress) reporting is highly desirable.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- 3+ years in an accounting or finance role, ideally within a creative agency or project-based environment.
