About MeasureMenuY
MeasureMenuY is a statistical analysis tool built for researchers and universities. It scans entire datasets in a single pass to surface statistically significant relationships, then helps users interpret and report those results. The software runs entirely on the user's machine — no cloud uploads, no external model calls — which makes it viable for medical records, student data, and other privacy-sensitive research where other tools are a non-starter.
The product is shipping. Institutional pricing has been introduced at $100 per year, a fraction of comparable tools like MATLAB. What's missing is institutional adoption — and the relationships that make institutional adoption possible.
That's where this role comes in.
The Role
Universities are slow, committee-driven, fiscally cautious buyers. Software procurement at a research institution routinely takes six to twelve months and passes through department chairs, research deans, IT security review, legal, and procurement before a purchase order is cut. Most sales reps burn out on that timeline.
You will not burn out on that timeline. You will build an account map across a defined set of target institutions, cultivate the relationships that matter, and shepherd opportunities from first introduction through signed site license.
What You Bring
- Direct experience selling into or working within higher education. This is not a role for generalist B2B SaaS reps looking for a new vertical.
- Working understanding of how academic institutions actually buy — committees, fiscal cycles, pilot periods, FERPA and IRB considerations, overhead rates, grant-funded procurement.
- Patience for long sales cycles measured in months, sometimes academic years. If a six-month pipeline feels stalled to you, this is not the role.
- Self-direction. You own your territory end-to-end.
Nice to Have
- An existing network of contacts across research universities — especially in social sciences, public health, education research, or biomedical research with survey components.
- Prior work at an edtech company, research software vendor, academic publisher, or institutional consultancy.
- Graduate-level academic experience of your own.
Compensation & Structure
Equity-only until the first institutional round closes. The equity grant is meaningful for an early-stage territory role and sized to experience and scope. Upon funding, compensation converts to a base salary plus commission on institutional deals closed, negotiated at that point. The commission structure is designed to reward the long cycles this role actually runs, not the short ones it doesn't.
Why This Role Exists
MeMeY's commercial future runs through institutional site licenses, not individual researcher purchases. Individual licenses validate demand; institutional contracts build a company.
That transition requires a specific kind of sales professional: someone who understands that a dean's inbox is not a cold-email target, that a pilot with one department is worth more than a hundred form-fill leads, and that trust — built patiently, across a year — is the actual product being sold.
